      Are you being haunted? Is it possible for ghosts to follow you?  Yes.  There are such things as ghosts who attach themselves.  You have to be careful when visiting haunted houses, cemeteries, and sites of paranormal activity.  It is wise to use some form of protection or prayer and to be guarded when doing paranormal investigations.  It is not uncommon for skeptics especially those who like to taunt ghosts at haunted locations to be the target of attachments.   People who provoke ghosts with insults in hopes that they will manifest, sometimes find themselves spiritually or even physically attacked.   These are some of the more serious cases. 

Even more alarming are malevolent spirits who can sometimes enter your body.   If you are unguarded and completely open, spirits can temporarily occupy your body or attempt to communicate by making you experience the cause of their demise.  For example, you might feel a shortness of breath or constriction in your throat if the spirit choked to death or died by hanging.  Remember, it is not a good idea to play certain board games and ask ghosts to make their presence known  or invite them to visit you. You don't know who or what will come through. Some spirits can be very deceptive pretending to be family members. In some cases, ghosts can be attracted to your energy and follow you home from haunted places.  They are difficult to get rid of. These are called ghostly attachments.   So be careful what you wish for......you just might get it.

          Are you living with a ghost? It is always a good idea to get your home blessed!  If you have just moved in to a house, apartment, cabin.....etc. it is wise to have it cleansed.  And I'm not talking about scrubbing with soap.  Even if you have just found your dream home and it is brand new, a house blessing is always a good thing.  A priest, minister, rabbi, (whatever  your religion)  can bless your home.   You  can also do a "smudging" yourself to release any negative engergies still hanging around.  Sometimes, people don't experience anything until they start renovating their home.  Energies can be lying dormant for years.  Then suddenly people experience strange unexplained footsteps  in  their house, hear voices, things that go "bump" in the night.  Renovations and home improvements can awaken spirit energies to come and see what you are doing to their home.  Houses that were originally quiet can start to manifest ghosts. On the other hand, I know some people who live with ghosts and are quite content.  They seem happy to share their living space.  Ofcourse, if it's your aunt Tilly or a spouse who  use to live there, then I can understand not wanting to do a house cleansing to remove them.  These ghostly visitors are welcomed. However, sometimes people encounter dark negative energies.  These spirits or entities can be pretty scary and even dangerous.  You don't want to expose your  family, especially your children, to these negative energies.   Not only are they ghostlycreepy and downright frightening, they can be very harmful sometimes scratching, or pushing you down the stairs or sucking your energy as you sleep.   Some energies are residual while others are intelligent and able to communicate.  Either way, a house blessing is always a good idea! Pleasant dreams.

 I recently had a reader write to me and tell me about her terrifying dream, or rather nightmare.  Can ghosts affect your dreams?  Yes, I believe they can.  If someone on the other side wants to communicate with you, it's not uncommon for them to appear in your dreams.  Sometimes they have message or a warning.  If it is a loved one who has crossed over and is trying to protect you or give a message, this ghost is trying to help.  However, what happens when we dream of people we've never seen?  I suppose it all depends on the specific circumstances.  Sleeping in a new place or strange surrounding for the first time can definitely affect your dreams.  There are instances where sleeping in a house, hotel, or the bedroom of someones' demise, piques curiousity on the part of the deceased.  Does it happen all the time?  No.  But there have been many occasions where ghosts come to visit.  They can definitely come to see who is occupying their home or sleeping in their bed. We are all sensitive to various degrees.  Some people have very explicit dreams and are able to recall details and even names of people and places.  Does it mean we are dreaming of ghosts?  Not necessarily.  It all depends on what you are dreaming.  Do you have strange recurring dreams?  It could be your subconscious way of dealing with certain issues or trauma in your life.  But do pay attention to your dreams and try to remember the details.  Whether it's a ghost or your own subconscious, there are messages to unlock in your dream state.

       Earlier today, I was in the studio recording the first volume of GHOSTLYCREEPY stories.   During the recording, the editing machine started doing some strange things.  It was as if it had a mind of its own! As we made a master copy, the CD kept popping in and out of the machine.  We all joked saying it was"haunted." Even our editor who is very experienced and has the latest in technology and a fantastic state of the art studio thought it was not normal. 

Actually it was paranormal! The truth is, ghosts are known to suck energy around it.  Hence, cold spots in the air are believed to be the result of spirits taking energy from its surroundings. It is not uncommon to have things go awry especially with electrical equipment. 

Two years ago I was on a paranormal investigation at an old Victorian mansion.  It was a beautiful turn of the century home in Denison Texas.  A murder had been committed in this home a long time ago.  But the present owner had experienced a lot of paranormal activity. Our crew had just started recording inside the spacious rooms when all the batteries suddenly went dead. The new camera was acting up and the batteries were drained, much to the dismay of our cameraman.  We eventually got everything to work again.  Fortunately, we had several pieces of equipment and were able to complete our ghostlycreepy investigation.  But if you are ever on your own paranormal investigation, make sure you have batteries, chargers, and back up equipment.  Apparitions are said to use energy including our own to manifest.

In a recent jaunt to an antique shop, I overheard a customer complaining to the owner about the "ghostly attachment" that came with her recent purchase.  She explained that although she loved her antique Junghans tableclock, she  requested a refund because the German clock was haunted!  She went on to explain that almost every morning, she could hear someone winding the clock.  As soon as she walked out of her bedroom and into the hall, the winding would stop, but the front glass door and the back wooden door of the clock was wide open. No one lived with her so she couldn't explain the paranormal activity. She was convinced the clock was haunted. "It's as if invisible fingers are winding the clock," she lamented.  

Sometimes objects come with ghostly attachments.  A much loved clock or personal object can still have a ghostly presence attached to it.  People are creatures of habit.  If a person was use to winding a clock, it can continue to do so as a ghost.  Sometimes it is the residual energy that is affecting the paranormal activity.  Apparitions can seem to reenact sounds, voices and steps in a room.  Residual energy is a bit like playing a recording.  It isn't an intelligent haunt communicating with you.  It simply is a ghostly recording attached to a particular room or object that can be heard or seen over and over again at certain times of the day or night.  But, it can certainly make for a very ghostlycreepy experience!
